INTRODUCING…
FOLIE! (…just a conceptial design)
Our class was told to think of a part within the cosmetic industry and create your very own brand. My goal was then to “step into” the perfume business by “introducing” my own line called Folie. In French it is translated into madness aiming this for the male (or female) audience as a cologne. With long days of trial and error on logos, I finally was satisfied with what is pictured below. We were then told to not only design our logos but then create a packaging for our product and how the end product will physically look. I played with various fonts, styles, and colors but ultimately the colors of white, navy blue and black stuck with me. I felt these colors would be gender neutral and brings a sense of elegance with a hint of edge. Using Illustrator on the PC, I found a perfect template that would work for my packaging (lucky find). There was then all the little (yet major) details such as the barcode, ingredients, and location that needed to be incorporated in the final product!
After finalizing my work, it was printed on colored paper, leading me into my final steps. Using a sharp razor knife, I cut the paper very carefully attempting to leave no flaws with each slash. It was then spray glued/stick glued together for extra support and there we have it!
The full process of this project took about a 3 weeks including all the different trial and errors!
